ICT as a Platform for Change

Neutral and Green Contemporary Pitch Deck (1).png

ICT (Information and Communications Technology) can be a platform for change in various ways. It can be used to empower individuals and communities, promote social transformation, and bring about social change. ICT can also be used to bridge the digital divide, which refers to the gap between demographics and regions that have access to modern information and communications technology and those that don't.

To lessen the impact of the digital divide, governments can ensure affordable, easy-to-use technologies, provide digital competence and technical skills to schools, teachers, and students, reduce the gender digital divide, and promote digital equity and inclusion.

ICT can also be used as a medium for advocacy and developmental communication. It can help spread awareness of important issues that surround our environment, country, and people. For example, the Women's Learning Partnership used ICT to raise their advocacies through creating a website to connect to other people to diminish the marginalization and isolation of women.

In conclusion, ICT can be a powerful tool for change, and its impact can be felt in various aspects of life, including education, social justice, and economic growth. By bridging the digital divide and empowering individuals and communities, ICT can help create a more equitable and just society.
